Dispensary business permits

To start a cannabis business, you will have to obtain dispensary business permits first.  Since the process can be daunting, the government has broken it down into steps that you can follow to set up your very own legal cannabis business.
Before you submit an application for
dispensary business permits, you must review the requirements of the application.  One of the first things that you must keep in mind is that until you get your rezoning application approved, you cannot make an application for a business permit.   When you submit an application, the agencies will conduct a background check to see if you have had any criminal convictions in the past.  So you must make sure that you have a clean record before you take any step further.
Then, there is the licensing fee which can vary from state to state.  Usually, the fee is non-refundable which means that if your application is not a success, you will not get your fee back.  For this reason, it is important to take each step very carefully and exercise caution when getting started.  The fees associated with the licensing process as well as the costs for running a dispensary business can add up to be a lot.

Cannabis cultivation permits

The idea of growing cannabis and selling to dispensaries across the state may sound interesting, but obtaining cannabis cultivation permits is certainly not easy.  Regardless of the state in which you wish to set up your grow operation, you will find that the laws are quite complicated.  The laws also vary from state to state.
So if you are serious about setting up a cultivation facility, you may have to gain a thorough understanding of what the laws require you to do.  In some states, the business has to follow the vertical integration laws where if they grow cannabis, they also have to take care of its processing, distribution and selling.  In other states, businesses can choose which sector of the cannabis industry they want to get involved in.  This allows them to either run a grow operation, a dispensary, a delivery service or others.   States in which the laws are more flexible, businesses can apply for cannabis cultivation permits only without worrying about the processing or selling aspect.   This is the reason it is important to read and become familiar with the laws that apply in your respective state.  Having a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations will help you plan your actions accordingly and take the right step towards starting a successful cannabis cultivation business.
